There are several different ticket types for entrance to the Disneyland Paris Theme Park. By choosing the tickets that best suits you best, you can save a lot of time and money on your visit the entrance tickets.
Disneyland Paris is made up of two theme parks the Magic Kingdom and The Walt Disney Studios Park
First of all you need to decide it you are just going to visit one of the parks or both. Secondly are you just on a day visit or are you planning a longer stay, thirdly (and this is really crafty!) are you a regular visitor, if so then purchasing a season ticket could save you loads.
The tickets are as follows:
– 1 day 1 park
– Discovery – 1 day 2 parks
– 2 days 2 parks
– 3 days 2 parks
– 5 days 2 parks
Also if you book your tickets in advance you can save at lest 15% off the price at the gate.
An Annual pass could give you the biggest savings and enable you to visit over a 12 month period. For example if you need to go in the school holidays you could go for Halloween (October) or Christmas and purchase you ticket and then visit again the following year either at Easter, Whitsun or during the summer holidays without having to pay any further entrance fees.
Purchasing an annual pass is more complicated but if you buy a one day ticket you can have this upgraded to an annual pass and the cost of your day ticket taken of the final bill. Believe it or not the annual pass is virtually the same price as a 5 day pass but with lots of other discounts and privileges!
Planning a trip to Disneyland Paris is a very exciting time and for most children (and some of us adults!) this will be the trip of a lifetime so you will want to make sure that you have covered every eventuality and also managed to get the deal that best suits your specific needs.
Arriving at Disney is a very special experience as you drive up the main driveway under the Disney arches. The trip down the moving pathways to the main entrances is always good fun and the sight of the Disney Hotel and gardens is breathtaking. It is under this hotel where you will enter the park going through the turnstiles and will need to present your entrance tickets. Anyone over the age of 3 will need a ticket.
There are several types of tickets available these vary in time from 1 day to 5 days and will cover one park or both. I would personally recommend a hopper pass so you can move freely between parks making the most of the parades and shows etc.
It is possible to buy all the tickets at the turnstiles but seriously consider buying them in advance as there are some great offers around and you will find that you get in for a much lower price on average at least 15% cheaper. Not only will you save money but you will also be able to save time as you will only have to queue for the turnstiles and not the ticket booths. This can be a real bonus during busy periods.
When you know you are going to Eurodisney also consider buying your tickets well in advance as the price relates to when you buy your tickets not the date of you visit. A regular ticket is normally valid for one year so with prices being set twice a year (April and November) you could avoid a price rise.
If you book a hotel package your tickets will be included in the price so will be sent to you with your travel tickets.
If you are completing a late booking it is also possible to buy instant e-tickets online, these will save you money but you will still have to queue at both the ticket office and the turnstiles.
So as you can see whatever type of trip you are planning there is always a ticket to suit and by buying in advance you will also be able to save some of that hard earned cash.
For many of us (young and old alike) a trip to Disneyland Paris is a dream. I will always remember the amazement on my children’s faces when they first entered the park and saw all their favourite characters we did truly have a magical holiday.
So how much of a reality is a trip to Disneyland Paris is it really affordable or is it out of most peoples’ price ranges? Well if you take time to plan and research all your options you will be able to make huge savings but you need to remember that this is a special place and as such you do have to pay a premium. I always find this a challenge and love thinking up ways of finding savings as this can add to the fun of the trip.
Booking a package deal well in advance can often be the cheapest option as this is when the special offers are at their best. You will also find that the offers are limited so the earlier you book the more choice you will have over hotels etc. As a rule of thumb I would do a little research on the websites so I know how much a package is and then have a trip down to my local travel agent and give them the challenge of beating the price you could be surprised what they come up with. It may not be cheaper but they will often add in a few extras that would usually have incurred a charge.
If you want to tie in a visit to Disney as part of a holiday in France then I would suggest you also do a little research, buying tickets in advance usually works out cheaper than on the gate. Rail companies and other travel providers often have special deals for example if you cross with Eurotunnel you can get a free day hopper pass and 15% off additional tickets which is a huge saving especially if there are several of you travelling together.
If you are not staying on site then look at each aspect of you trip as you don’t want any nasty surprises when you are there. The main things to consider are;
- Travel
- Accommodation
- Entrance Passes
- Food and Drink
- Car Parking
- Souvenirs
- Extras – such as Wild West Show
All of the above can work out quite pricey but savings can be made on all of the above with careful planning for example staying offsite in an apartment is often much cheaper than the onsite hotels. Consider buying a half board option from Disney as this works out much cheaper than buying individual meals. Car Parking works out at €12.00 per day it may be better to use a shuttle service from your hotel

Disneyland Paris is a magical place to visit and because of this it is frequently very busy especially when the children are on holiday from school. The last thing you want is to spend all day in long queues so Disney have come up with a very clever Fast Pass system that basically enables you to book your ride time.

Your entry ticket counts as your Fast Pass and on all the big and popular rides you will find machines where you can insert your tickets and be given a time when you can come back and basically go to the front of the queue. To make it easier to plan the ride times being booked are shown above the machines.
To get maximum benefit you will need to plan ahead as you can only have one fast pass booking at a time. Also the very popular rides such as Peter Pan will run out of Fast Pass Tickets.
Thunder Mountain is our favourite ride so we tend to go there first when the park opens, book our Fastpass time and then join the queue (which is usually quite short at this time) Once we have had our ride it is usually time for our Fast Pass ride and so we can have a second ride without having to wait , We then wander to the Peter Pan ride where we book our next Fast Pass ride – this is usually for a couple of hours ahead so we then spend time with the Pirates and other rides in the area and when the time is ready we can pop onto the ride without having to wait many minutes. This is great especially when on really busy days the normal queue can be up to 90 minutes!
So as you can see you entrance ticket could also be the key to avoiding long queues if used in the correct way.
Taking the time to plan your visit to Disneyland Paris is probably the most important part of saving money on your trip. Follow the steps below to pinpoint exactly what you are looking for and therefore the deal you need;
1. Think carefully of the time of year you would like to visit. If you have very young children consider visiting in term time as these periods are usually much quieter and also have better offers. October is a good example of this as the weather could still be warm but schools have returned so tour companies have offers to encourage visits
Recommended off peak time are:
# Mid-January to late March
# Mid-April to mid-July
# Mid-September to early December
2.How many are in your party – I you are contemplating a large group visit calculate numbers as it maybe more economical to have a group booking as you may be entitled to a least one free entrance ticket to Disneyland Paris
3. Look at some of the package deals. Half board deals could work out cheaper than discount entry costs and then having additional costs for meals. With the euro so strong at the moment you may be surprised how expensive things are so buying before you go could be a wise decision.
4.Decide on your transport arrangements early as you can quite often get early bird deals on ferries & Eurostar. The earlier you book with budget airlines the better so by planning in advance you may be lucky enough to get a bargain basement flight
You can never be too early when planning your visit and with thorough preparation you could really get a cheap deal to Disneyland Paris
